Kitchen Details

If you follow me on Instagram then you have seen a little of the chaos progress that we have been making in our kitchen remodel. I’m excited that the old tile is out, the stove and microwave are gone, the new cabinet has been put in the stove’s place and the custom hood vent Matt built… Continue reading Kitchen Details

DIY Shiplap Walls

July 29, 2016August 24, 2016 thehandiworkhome3 Comments

When we remodeled The Hall Bath I knew I wanted shiplap walls. I however had no hope of tearing off my drywall to find ‘real’ shiplap underneath. So I opted for a DIY version that was easy, sturdy and budget friendly. We are adding more shiplap in the house to bring that same farmhouse feel to… Continue reading DIY Shiplap Walls

Life Happens

Part of the fun of doing a home renovation all on your own is the ability to control your environment, and your budget in your makeover. The downfall is that this usually is a ‘side job’ to all the other things life has going on. It’s too easy to keep your nose down and working… Continue reading Life Happens

Kitchen Remodel ~ Demo Day

June 8, 2016 thehandiworkhome2 Comments

Matt asked me what I wanted for Mother’s Day and do you know what I said?…I want a demo day…and not just any demo day, kitchen demo day! Of course that meant I wanted all the stuff that came after too, but we don’t need to get caught up on the details of that just… Continue reading Kitchen Remodel ~ Demo Day

The Hall Bath

June 7, 2016September 26, 2016 thehandiworkhome10 Comments

When we bought our house we sat down and made sketches and plans for all the changes we wanted to make. I had in my mind about 90% of it and put it to paper. Mostly because my visual husband needs to see a picture…apparently talking with my hands doesn’t cut it. Of course with… Continue reading The Hall Bath

Unexpected Lessons from Trailer Living

June 1, 2016 thehandiworkhomeLeave a comment

In my previous post I wrote about our new home purchase in the country. What I skimmed over in that story was the seven months it took us to find a house. Those seven months were their own story that I wanted to have some time to really chat about. You know I love to… Continue reading Unexpected Lessons from Trailer Living

Buying the Potential

May 23, 2016May 23, 2016 thehandiworkhomeLeave a comment

Early in our relationship as Matt and I dreamed about our future, we knew we always wanted to live on property and have space to do things we wanted, build things, explore, let our kids roam. When we bought our first home in a residential building track we were so excited. Not because this was… Continue reading Buying the Potential

Happy 2019! I love this time of year just about as much as I love holidays. It's the celebration of new and fresh. Hope that we can each be better, celebrating all we achieved in the previous year. I am a reflective person by nature and have been working on some big goals and dreams for 2019. I'm excited and scared all at once. My study time lately has drawn me to the old testament. God, in his grace, commanded the Israelites to do various things to remember what He had done for them. You see He knows we are fearful and forgetful so He builds into our lives opportunity for rememberence. Opportunities to be reminded that He is faithful, that He shows up. I am excited to go into 2019, into these big new plans from a position of rememberence, which pulls me into a position of trust. Thank you that we serve a gracious and trustworthy God! "But then I recall all you have done, O LORD; I remember your wonderful deeds of long ago." Psalm 77:11 📸: @floretflower this awesome shot of florets poppies just fill me with all the planning excitement! Garden planning, life planning, school planning, etc...
Praying you all had a blessed Christmas!! Sorry I have been quiet over here for a while, trying to figure out my place here. My goals and purposes. I always love taking a break and being intentional with my time especially around Christmas. I'm looking forward to what 2019 will hold for my family and this little slice of Instagram. ❤️
Happy Thanksgiving!! 🦃❤️
Some friends came over today and brought their... Baby bunnies 😳🐰😍. I was living the dream covered in a fluffle and getting baby bunny kisses. Thanksgiving break has been just that a little break from all the regular stuff and just time to be home and present and enjoy the little things like a visit from bunny babies. Hope you all are having a blessed week!
